And try to build a management team and coaching staff that will work together to grow the franchise together.

Jon Cooper didn't win until his 8th season in Tampa and worked with Yzerman/Brisebois to help build that roster.

Jared Bednar didn't win until his 6th season in Colorado, and worked with Sakic/MacFarland to help build that roster.

From a management perspective that would be my plan - and that group can decide what to do with Lindholm, Hanifin, Tanev, Backlund, Toffoli, Zadorov, and Kylington as upcoming UFAs. In the end I think an LA Kings style rebuild is probably most likely. Huberdeau, Kadri, Weegar probably aren't going anywhere, similar to Kopitar, Doughty, Brown, Quick in LA. So you move out pieces to recover as many assets as possible, bottom out as much as you can for 3-4 years, and in a couple years you might be good while those guys are still under contract and can help.
