The organization should have a pretty good handle on whether or not Conroy has the mettle to be a GM in this league.
If Conny's not suitable, I'm looking at Jason Botterill.
Honestly, he got flack at the time for his work with Buffalo, but in hindsight many of his moves turned out to be quite good and positioned the team well. Drafted Mittlestadt, Cozens, Dahlin, Eichel. Even the poor signing of Jeff Skinner has rebounded over the past two seasons once Ralph Krueger was removed. Traded a well regarded Brendan Guhle (who ended up not making it) for Montour, who didn't stick in Buffalo but is a great player. Got Tage Thompson in O'Reilly deal which is looking real good. Really, his biggest knock was hiring Krueger in the first place. I think he's a good young GM and could work for us through either path forward, retool or rebuild.
