You're not promoting the guy that was Treliving's mentor to PoHo if you weren't a fan of what Treliving did and you would have blown up the entire front office.
Maloney being PoHo isn't an issue in my books, he has a lot of experience in the league and will help with the GM search like Burke did when Treliving was hired. His work from 2010-2016 in Arizona actually isn't that bad, with no money he somehow got that team into the playoffs three straight seasons and into the conference finals once.

Yeah I don't have an issue with Maloney sticking around. I wouldn't want him as the GM, but a good man with hockey experience is never a bad thing.
Also should mean less chaos for this draft with the scouting staff acting as always instead of being guided in a new direction; they've done well under Treliving and that shouldn't change.
Will miss Treliving, the only way they find that level of quality in a replacement is to go inexperienced and hope he works out like Treliving did.
Will be good to have Maloney if they do go that route.
