The point is what it takes to get a basic grade 12 diploma needs to change. It shouldn't be a one size fits all thing. I know we are seeing a bit of change in BC with some schools offering courses that count towards trade certification hours and apprenticeships.
Overall, I'd say our current system lends itself towards large amounts of people feeling lost for large parts of their young adulthood.
