Thanks crew, agreed. I want a good coach, and anticipate that Sutter’s days are numbered, but I don’t want Q. While technically he could get approval, I don’t think the Flames would end up hiring him. For whatever faults the team has, they at least appear to maintain a moral compass when it comes to bringing on players and other staff. And when things like Peters came to light, it was pretty clear what was going to happen.
And then there’s the question of whether his rocky road will hinder his effectiveness. He seemed to be a great coach before all of this came to light, but how would you feel as a prospect going to a training camp with Q leading the show? It would undermine his trust with players and I don’t think he could ever steer a team through brick walls again.
