I’m not sure if you guys have experience with long covid or not, but I highly doubt he’s lost his passion for the game. It’s much more likely he literally can’t compete anymore. My wife has been disabled by long covid. It’s nearing a year and a half since she got sick and she’s unable to do much of anything anymore. Even a walk in the park or doing dishes tires her out and she’s in bed for the rest of the day.
Her birthday was last weekend and I pushed her through Butchart Gardens in a wheelchair.
