JK is very supportive of trans rights and has very progressive opinions across the board, the main part she isn't on board with is the idea that she is obligated to consider them as 100% women. The only people that have a problem with this is a very tiny, very vocal minority with shared extreme political opinions.

The only people that were hurt from the backlash to the video game were left-leaning, small-time content creators who decided to check the game out. They were the only people that could be hurt by the backlash and hurt they were. Lots of young women driven to tears and quitting streaming.
