I know of someone who moved up here a couple years ago to YYC from San Francisco for a new job. He lasted one winter, decided the cold was way too f'ing terrible here, and promptly moved back to San Fran and convinced the firm to open up an office there in the process.
I'm used to YYC weather and love this city, but would definitely consider moving to a warmer climate year-round. The cold and dryness does get very tiring, at least for me.
