And in the last game which he did the same thing Saros was praised for by the OP through regulation and OT (in fact, Saros was extremely lucky Rasmus flubbed in OT). Which was put his team in a position to win.
Tell me, if Ritchie scored, was Markstrom second best at that point? Does the fact Kadri, Backlund and Ritchie all had lame attempts make Saros the better goalie? He really only had to work just a little on Ritchie's.
Frankly, when both goalies play well, first and second best is kind of irrelevant. From there it's about what else happened in the game.

I'd say after that flub on the first goal that yes, he would still be second best last night. He was fine after the flub, but Saros was better.
