Huberdeau looks to have found his game. Markstrom is very capable of a rebound year - he’s done it before and tonight was a fine performance overall. And Wolf is in the wings. Just average goaltending over the year would have put Calgary in the POs. Hell, two or three games with a little more luck do it. So with actual good goaltending, Huberdeau improved, Mangiapane having a better year, Calgary is where the pundits predicted this year.

That sounds like a lot of things need to do a 180. Huby looked better, but he didn’t find his game at the rate we’re paying him to. I don’t think Markstrom is mentally strong enough to be elite through a whole season plus playoffs. I think we overpaid Mang.
I like some of those young guys for sure, but I don’t think any of them are game breakers. We need one. Our D corps is pretty good, but we still hemorrhage high danger chances, and have no one that can run the PP.
I expect us to be very average again next season.
