As for playoff performance, many players take a while to "bring it" in the playoffs and he did finish 2nd in scoring with 10 pts in 12 games playing with a cracked bone in his hand...hardly poor, and it's delusional to think he's not worth a 9+ million contract. His $9.5m deal might turn into one of the best deals in the league within 2 years.

I don't hate tkachuk first of all. I'm some what surprised he hit 100 again and haven't watched Florida too much this year, so I can't speak to the rest of the team. Huberdeau did the same thing last year. Barkov is a complete player and is so gifted skill wise, I'm surprised he's never hit 100.
I guess we have different perspectives of what poor is. I think he was largely ineffective in a majority of those 12 games, he had that great game 1 vs Edmonton, game 7 vs Dallas he played well, but consistently bringing it I didn't see it. That's also been the story of his fulll playoff tenure on the Flames. In terms of worth a 9 million dollar contract, if what we see in the regular season from him in the playoffs, I would agree. However in my opinion, I don't think you pay a player that type of dollar when he hasn't shown he can elevate in the playoffs.
