For sure, he definitely has time to figure it out in playoff hockey and I wouldn't be shocked if he does. In my mind though you give 9/10/11 million dollar to players who can be the best player on a championship caliber team and I don't see that in Tkachuk.

I'm not surprized at all Tkachuk reached 100+ points again with Florida, hate him all you want but for a big guy he's a wizard with the puck and has a great shot, I am surprized he's leading that team in scoring by 30+ points though.
As for playoff performance, many players take a while to "bring it" in the playoffs and he did finish 2nd in scoring with 10 pts in 12 games playing with a cracked bone in his hand...hardly poor, and it's delusional to think he's not worth a 9+ million contract. His $9.5m deal might turn into one of the best deals in the league within 2 years.
