This is saying nothing of getting away from Sutter if he's one of the players that isn't happy.
Whoever the gm is going to be will have to do a masterful sell job and likely overpay to keep him here.
The main positive of him telling the team he'll test free agency is we should get a pretty good return for him at the deadline.
Losing him will leave a huge hole in the lineup though.

He'll need to go before the deadline. If the Flames are in a playoff spot the GM, whoever that is, won't be allowed to move him.
And they really can't risk that to be honest.
if Lindholm doesn't want to be here long term, he needs to be moved this off season. Most likely/preferably at the draft.
