Too many players on retirement contracts, that aren't going to go the extra mile consistently enough. It's not a functional way to build a team - we as fans all know it, yet we clamor when the GM goes out and outbids everyone to land the next shiny toy every year. Sure it's easy to look back and question it now, but I'm going to do it anyway.
Signing 3 high profile, older players, who have had no experience in the city, system or playing with the team to retirement contracts in a single offseason is just absolutely bonkers for a team with significant playoff aspirations. It has certainly not all been their fault, but the 2 forwards have not fit in at all, and have certainly not provided the consistent effort or production required. This team needs a purge from top to bottom as it has completely gotten itself off the tracks, and I don't see any way back with the current management and staff.
