The results obviously haven't been there this season for Huberdeau, but he looks like he's invested and actively trying (sometimes too hard I think) to make things happen. He isn't living up to her huge contract, but he's been warming up lately, and it gives me hope that he can come into next season knowing how to be successful here.
Kadri on the other hand only ever really looks invested when he's got the puck on his stick and he's trying to beat 3 guys. I can't even remember the last time he's bothered to yap at an opposing player, and that (for better or worse) used to be a big part of his game. He barely even complains to the ref looking for calls. He showed early in the season that he CAN be a very good player, but I would imagine that he's alienating himself from this teammates now with the way he's basically thrown in the towel; it's harder to see him having a lot of success in the remaining 6 years of his contract if he's on the outs with his teammates.
