Much like all of our big contracts, they're designed to be front loaded for performance and suck later on.
We're just not getting the good years expected either, so they're all complete suck.
We may have the worst roster & contract situation in the league.

And it all came from the moves made this past offseason.
I can understand the Huberdeau and Weegar signings, seeing as they have proven to be elite players in the past, but trading a 1st to sign a 32yo 2nd line C to 7 years for just as much AAV as any other Flames player has been paid ever is insane.
Iggy, Tkachuk and Kadri are currently the only players to be paid $7+ mill AAV. Huberdeau blows that out of the water next season.
Fight tooth and nail in negotiations with every single player we’ve developed within the organization just to hand over the 3 richest contracts ever given out by the organization to guys who had never even put the jersey on before.
It’s absolute insanity when you stop and actually process that fact.
