I seemed to remember the Flames filing for arbitration right away with Tkachuk so as to prevent any offer sheets. Would he still have been able to talk with other teams before that?
Either way, knowing mutual interest is pretty different from knowing contract terms. I would have expected him providing a list was saying to Treliving "I won't sign with anyone but these teams" not "I'll sign with any of these teams the Flames choose to trade me to, regardless of the differences between their offers".
He would have needed to agree to any offer before signing, and I imagine would have still wanted to compare offers from each team before signing any of them.
