Or, there are plenty of awful, mean and disrespectful #######s who nonetheless fully support gay rights, while at least some of the people who don't are well-meaning and otherwise decent people who are ignorant and have been misled by their upbringing and the influences that others have had on them in their life.
Nothing is ever simple, and the only people who want them to be are simpletons.
