Well that was simple, with the information that NHL scouts had at the time, they never thought that Dustin Wolf would even be able to translate his game past the AHL, let alone be one of the best goalies ever to play in the AHL at his age group and win AHL Best Goalie of the Year x 2.
If the NHL scouts had this information available or had this foresight (let's say through time travel), Dustin Wolf would have gone top 10-15 in the Draft right up there with Spencer Knight. I feel that's where he is if there is a re-draft done today.

I think you're right, but I feel like if a guy is putting up those numbers why not take a 5th round flyer?
Out of 22 goalies taken. Wolf was the last one taken and the shortest at a listed 6'0". There were a handful who were 6'1" but it just seems to me that I'd rather have a guy with proven numbers and a proven performer than a guy who's a couple inches taller with mediocre numbers who barely played in Peterborough because he was the backup.
