So there was a lot of interesting lore bits in this episode as the show branches out into a larger story then just the Mando culture

We know from the new eu books based around the ST that the First Order generated income through the use of pirates and arms dealers. We heard about a major problem in the mid rim with the Pirate nation.

At the same time we've seen at least one former Imperial in the amnesty program that is probably a first order penetration agent. How many of the other "Liberated" Imperials are first order infiltrators.

Yes I believe we are seeing the early movements of the First Order here, and Gideon is part of it.

Again in one of the early books they talked about former Imperials taking seats in the New Republic Senate and basically corrupting the New Republic. We're getting a hint of how bad the New Republic is especially with Tim Meadows talking about the New Republic being more a bureaucracy.

In terms of theories on the Gideon side of things, there's a few different ways that this could go

Having Bo walking two paths and bringing the Mandalorian tribes together again is really an interesting decision. The Armourer is not political, she's not a leader, but she's now believes that Bo saw the Mythosaur and Dark Saber or not the Armourer wants a new Mandalorian leader and a united clan. .

There's something so intriguing about how Emily Swallows tells a story in this role. We talk about how good Din and Katee are under the helmet but Emily as the Armourer is really really good.

The Mandalorians have worked with the Empire throughout their history. They served the Sith Empire in the Old Republic and fought against the Republic and Revan. In Rebels we saw the Mandalorian Super Commando's serving the Empire after the destruction of Mandalore. 2) The Mandalorians kidnapped him and are probably now pulling his head slowly through his digestive track in retribution for the destruction of Mandalore. 3) Imperials or First Order troops rescued him and Gideon planted the Beskar to cause a war between the Mandalorians and the New Republic.
