Easy to cherry pick his bad deals but there lots of good ones in there too which is the point. And while he liked veterans, he also traded for picks. I don’t think he made the team any older, or built a bigger pick deficit, than the current GM.
He does not have the broad skills to be an effective GM though, not interested in that at all.

The next season was a year later, and they won the weak division on Kipper’s back again, and then lost in round one, and then sunk lower from there.
It’s easier to cherry pick good deals than bad, and his draft picks were worse. Not to mention his coaching choices.
