Problem with LTIR is that you can't accrue any cap space. It's not this magical get out of jail free card that so many people seem to think it is.

I admit to 100% thinking we pulled off the steal of the century when it happened (and I was one of the few who said Tkachuk was going to be good)... but I'm firmly in the camp of thinking we got hosed big time now.
Edit: I guess the trade itself was still pretty good. It was really us that hosed ourselves by signing both of them to max term before seeing them in action under Sutter.

LOL. You have an inaccuracy for each and every component of the trade - except maybe Schwindt, where 'AHL player' isn't technically inaccurate, but a premature label for a 21yo who did play 3 NHL games for the President's Trophy winning team
