People panic when they hear the word "asbestos" and it's just silly. It poses no danger at all as long as you don't disturb it. It was a fantastic fireproofing material.

I don't think Nexen cared, when they got bought by the Chinese at a massive premium and then oil took a nosedive and then Trudeau decided to cancel virtually all the pipelines, that's when CNOOC "cared".
