It's too bad ownership had to put their guy in as opposed to him just nailing down a good veteran coach before it got to that point where they had to step in
Sadly the MO from up high was to push for playoffs now. I'd like to see what treliving would do with full autonomy and no pressure to compete now, especially right after gaudreau bolted
If he was allowed to just accumulate assets and focus on drafting well in 2023 we would probably be laughing in 2-3 years

Ironically I think it was the owners that were cheap on coaches and wouldn't allow him to hire a proven coach, his biggest missteps were FA signings and his inability to identify and lock up our best young talent since Iginla.
