I wish that the club would allow for a formal relationship with the supporters where these decisions could be discussed and consulted on. Clubs in Europe treat their supporters more like stakeholders, but here in North America, we're simply customers.
Obviously the Foot Soldiers have a relationship with the club. I'm sure that it is a "good" one, but my impression is that it doesn't provide the FS any sort of leverage or consultation on decisions like this that impact supporters at large. I think that's wrong, especially when they are very quick to boast about the atmosphere that the FS bring to matches, use photos in marketing, etc.

I totally agree on that point. I think it would be a great step. It's kind of weird though, almost like the club wants the supporters (of course!), but also doesn't want to "endorse" everything, if that makes sense? I'm struggling with the best way to put this into words, but it's a little off from my vantage point.
