I'm not well mentally right now.
but to me, Top Gun is an entertaining popcorn movie, and not a movie with the depth to be a best picture contender.
I don't think it's out of line to suggest that. It is Oscar worthy, but for sound, editing and visual effects. Nothing else there.
nobody is going to look back and think it was robbed of any awards.
