The cold open was one of the better ones they've done so far, and I'm starting to like the new characters. The kills were gorier and more violent in this one as well, which I liked. Also loved the return of Kirby from Scream 4.

My only complaint is the amount of times we see the main characters surviving multiple stab wounds to the gut when they should have been dead within seconds/minutes. The silliest one was Chad (Mason Gooding) being hauled out on the stretcher still alive at the end, which was ridiculous. He's by far my least favorite of the current characters, and I was hoping that was the end of him. He must have been stabbed at least 20 times in that scene, lol.

Pretty much nailed my exact thoughts on it, down to your spoilered complaint.

My wife and I were laughing about how many people get stabbed with a pretty serious looking knife into their internal organs and are up running and jumping around soon after.
