I think the way he describes it is he’s trying to protect the puck while at the same time looking to pass, which makes him turn his hips. So he is kinda pinned to the wall.
And even if it doesn’t make sense generally, if it’s what he is used to and prefers, then fine. Just like Brodie playing RD left handed.
