One thing I always wonder about that statement about DST being bad for our health is, do people in Saskatchewan have significantly worse health than the rest of Canada? They have been living in permanent Daylight Time for decades.
If you look at a time zone map, the entire province of Saskatchewan lies right in the middle of the Mountain time zone. The middle of UTC-7, AKA Mountain Standard Time is 105°W. The western edge is 112.5°W (slightly west of Bassano) and the eastern edge is 97.5° (slightly west of Winnipeg). Saskatchewan's western border is 110°W and its eastern border is approximately 102°W. The natural middle of the Mountain time zone is slightly west of Regina.
By staying on Central Standard Time year-round, Regina is nearly perfectly positioned in the middle of permanent daylight time. Does the fact that they're told they're on permanent standard time cancel out the negative health outcomes of being on permanent daylight time?
