Yep, because Darryl has an extension.
Allan Walsh's insanity tweet rings as true tonight as it did when he tweeted it originally.
The Flames system is trash, and when coupled with this mediocre roster you get the results you deserve.

Sutter has a quick shelf life. Apparently for Huby, the Sutter shelf life it's 0 games because he sucked from day one. And relative to his ability, he has has sucked more than any other player on the team.
I wouldn't be surprised if Huby just doesn't like Calgary and isn't adjusting well. Cant handle the pressure of a hockey market after being in low pressure Florida his entire career. Can't handle being the big man here after hiding behind Barkov and Ekblad in Florida. Can't handle the $10.5m contract.
Great guy, but just can't handle the pressure. Maybe that's why no one within the organization is calling him out. Why the response to his agent was so muted.
Maybe he's just not meant for this kind of market.

I just don't see it. I don't see a player who "can't handle the pressure". I see a coach who believes his team is underskilled, and is coaching to limit the imapct of skill on both sides of the puck. Risk management up front in hopes of playing mistake free hockey on the backend. Had they got league average goaltending, Sutter would have found some level mediocre success with it as well as the Flames would comfortably be in a playoff spot...but I just don't see this brand of hockey finding success in the playoffs either.
Sutter's line construction and player utilization is terrible. His line matching is non-existent. The powerplay is terribly coached (Muller?). Both of our goalies have plummeted this season.
When this many things go wrong in one year, you do have to look at everything. I think the team is underskilled and the team is poorly coached. Blaming any one individual is a bad way of looking at it, because one player doesn't carry a team or even a line.
Gaudreau - Monahan - Ritchie was a terrible line, but Sutter ran it as long as the Flames were "in it". Once they were out, they shutdown Monahan and then Sutter ran Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk to great success (and even greater success the following season). Sutter seems to have this stupid idea that you can play good players with terrible ones (not meant to be a shot at Mony, but he was terrible after his body broke down).
