I have been trying to see if this is allowed. I am going to be building a ground level deck this summer but where I am building it there is a basement window well. I don't want people to fall in the window well obviously so the options are to build a little fence around it or put a grate over it. I want to go with the grate but I cannot find if this is allowed.
It would be built where the grate could open if needed, such as someone needing to escape out the window in an emergency.
I see lots of things from the city and province about the dimensions of the well itself and how the window needs to be able to open and such but nothing about covering the well with a grate or something.
Does anyone have any information if this is allowed?
