I just don’t understand the obsession with Reaves. Steel looked good last game and he gets rewarded by being scratched. Why not give him a few to keep him fresh and see if that success continues?

The dream scenario with Reaves is that he beats up Lucic and then immediately retires to become the color analyst for BSN

Reaves is absolutely nothing as a player to me and shouldn’t even be considered to be in the lineup. He’s an enforcer at this point that provides nothing else. He should be fighting every game if he’s in the lineup. I know there’s a supposed “trickle down effect” where everyone feels like they can play bigger, but it’s not like guys are out here lighting the other team up. Everyone can play the same way they’re playing without reavo in the lineup. If we were running guys left and right that’d be different.

I think Steel is a nothing burger. He is Jost, but with a smaller cap hit, which makes him more palatable.

Reaves hurts people with his hitting, plays smart, and in certain situations you want the threat of him on the ice. I do agree that he doesn’t need to play every game, though. He is very slow. Also think that Shaw is starting to get exposed as a tweener, after a strong start.

Beating the Stars with 5 seconds left in the game in Dallas last night probably gave them a big shot of motivation.

How to teams play to 0-0 in 2023. Scoring ain't that hard. Both teams should get zero pts for some travesty like this. Plus refund all the fans. Did the teams do a handshake on the game?

At the very least failure to score should NOT get an extra point. Two teams too futile to even score a goal and its rewarded as a 3pt game?

Years ago when the Edmonton Drillers were in the NASL (which was the big Soccer league of the time) you would get 1pt each for a tie. If a club scored a 1-0 W they would get 2pts. If you scored 2 or more goals in a W you would get 3pts. This rewarded scoring and was good to dissuade the kind of game that was played tonight.
