Does anyone know the real linkage between the equalization payments and the oil revenue? I do not. I have heard so many conflicting things that it is clear as mud.
1. Is there a plan to wean them off equalization?
2. Way back, did Alberta get a period of time when they kept oil revenue and still took equal. payments?
3. Is NFLD opposed to gradual lower equalization payments or is any decrease being seen as theft by the fed? Do they see any linkage at all? Should there be?
