It reminds me of the huge failure that was his brother Brent, saying the team lacked talent, and therefore had to play 'his way' to be successful. Now Darryl is doing the same thing, essentially saying the team lacks the talent to be successful unless they play his way.
Sorry, but that doesn't fly. You've handcuffed their creativity, and now you blame them for a lack of it. Sorry, but that's a fireable offense IMO.

If you look around the league most of the last generation coaches have run their course. With Boudreau fired we are down to two 60+ year old head coaches and Ruff is probably on his last gig in New Jersey as is Darryl in Calgary. I still believe Darryl Sutter is a great head coach but his philosophies are a little dated in that he's still all about size and experience in a league that has become all about youth, skill, and speed. I just don't think it would be good for the organization to go another year of rolling four lines and overplaying non-offensive contributors.
