The GM, on the other had, presented the coach with what everyone felt was a stack roster.
Plus, firing the GM does not give the team generally any immediate results. And if Trev is fired, expect Sutter to take over, whether they hire a "puppet front man" like Conroy or not.
You want to really see a lost team, let the above play out.

See, this is the issue right here, all fans see are the names and the stats and they think, this is a stacked roster which just sets their expectations all out of whack. Team building isn’t a video game, there’s are a lot of nuances in this ridiculous game and Huberdeau was not a good fit with this group and system from day 1.
It was so obvious to me from the day they acquired him that it was an experiment destined to fail. Treliving assembled a team that’s built to “check for their chances.” Every coach from Gulutzan, to Peters, to Ward and now to Sutter has echoed this phrase and Huberdeau is not this type of player, he’s the exact opposite and I’m shocked management didn’t see that.
I know for myself personally, I’m really not that surprised with how this season has unfolded because this is exactly what I thought this team would be, a bubble playoff team and sometimes bubble playoff teams miss the playoffs. There will definitely have to be some big changes in the offseason because next season will likely unfold exactly like this season has. It’s been consistently the same types losses over and over and over and it’ll just likely extend itself into next season as well.
