He says no offers made sense yet also says its the most 1st rounders he's seen moved and has stated that its a really deep draft. Other managers were able to capitalize. Probably becayse he was late to the party.

He's been extremly ineffective.
Or he makes trades that have little value and fans complain about how terrible he is as a GM. I would rather stand pat if the offers were weak. There's plenty of opportunities to change this group and maybe new partners emerge in the summer. Why trade for the sake of making a trade? Should we settle for a late first round pick for Lindholm or Backlund when maybe they get you more quality in the summer?

The next argument will be that lots of moves were made and players with low value got above average returns. Ultimately you need a partner to dance. With the season the Flames are having, we are selling at low value. Other GM's know this. The appetite many fans have is to rebuild and burn it to the ground. Fair points, but lets be smart about this. Just because there was lots of action doesn't mean we should have been involved if the value was truly lacking.

And finally some will argue that the value was there but he was ineffective and still believes this is a good team (which he did admit). But let's be real, Murray Edwards runs this team. If he says he's not entertaining a rebuild then there is nothing Tre or any other GM can do. He handcuffs the group with the hope of getting some playoff revenue. There's plenty of blame to go around for this season but you're not going to set a new course with ownership not willing to deviate from the plan.
