The dominating play by this team for 3/4 of many games, certianly the last month or so, simply and inexplicably has not translated to wins, and in game in all unravels in a few short minutes becuase a team lacks confidence. Posts don't help, nor does below average goaltending.

I've said it a few times, but recent losses, with the Flames not having to play much better, just get a finish instead of a post, or a decent timely save, has them drop 7-9 points less just in this past few weeks.
Not wishful thinking, you've seen the games and how well the Flames have held possession and generated chances...but untimely goals against really knock this team down more than other NHL teams it seems. That first came to light against the Oilers last year, when a goal against put the Flames often in a sprial, but Oilers brushed off crappy goals against and continued on.

Terrible goaltending this year is the root. Average goaltending has the team in a safe playoff space. That's not on Sutter because goalie options can't easily be changed midseason in a capped league.

Media interactions with low level attention seeking pot stirrers like Francis and Valji can't be taken seriously.
No offense but you are a big Sutter fan. I wouldn't expect you post anything different. It's been a bad season from him. The Flames had one of their best starts to a season in years at 5-1 and his response was to go all grumpy pants, call out Huberdeau and change all the lines and they go out and lose the next seven games. I can't remember any head coach getting in his own way and faceplanting that bad with poor decision making. I don't know if this team ever really got its footing back after that.
