Well, the polls don't account for the distortion of FPTP, and that's really what happens. And the CPC has won popular vote for the past two elections, haven't they? (I didn't look this up).
It basically comes down to vote efficiency. You get 99% of the vote in say Cardston, and it's one seat. The polls are just plain deceptive in that regard.
