Toffoli's value will not be higher for the duration of his contract than it is right now, especially with cap retention.
A smart organization that's in the Flames situation 100% trades him for the best return possible. You can either keep the futures based assets that the trade would inevitable get or use those assets to acquire a younger winger (or other position of need) ahead of the draft if you were so inclined but regardless the play has to be to trade him ahead of tomorrow's deadline.
But smart and Calgary Flames simply don't go together.
