Yeah, the "the is handmaid's tale sh-t" take is a bit over the top. Show me a westernized society that doesn't provide some form of subsidy for people with kids. As someone who doesn't have or want kids, it annoys the sh-t out of me, but it is what it is.

What is objectionable is not extending those benefits to couples that aren't heterosexual; it isn't as though these benefits require the qualifying couple to give birth to a child, the benefits are extended to adopted children. Also the whole part about people who rent don't pay property taxes but still have kids don't get any part of this either.
