For the record I am a huge Lindholm fan and yes we will be searching for a top line center if he is traded but we have to do what is best for the franchise and adding another 8 year contract would not be ideal.
Look at some of the shorter term deals and the value we are getting out of them. Tanev and Toffoli come to mind 4 year deals expiring at the right and and we got great value out of them.
That's why I am a big advocate of short term deals especially for 28-30 year old players in the 4 year range. I think it should be a big topic of discussion in the next CBA.
