Huberdeau also would be better if the d-men were joining the rush literally at all. He's got the vision and the desire to find the trailer wide open in the slot.
Center drives the net and takes a D, Huberdeau sweeps down the wing and spots the d-man in the high slot, and then it's a good chance.
But the d-men for whatever reason are stuck in their own zone every time the Flames go for a rush. Either that or they're going off for a change while still being fresh. The Flames have three really really solid offensive d-men in Hanifin, Andersson, and Weegar, and then also have Kylington if he returns (please come back I miss you so much).
Not to mention the PP#1 gets 40 seconds before they get yanked for the second unit most times. And then the team wastes 30 seconds on the 4th line PP more often than not.
