If we could land a top 5 pick to draft a Lindholm replacement, fine move him. That is not happening. This team is not blowing it up even though some come on here and say that is the best option. I like the option but it is not happening. Some are married to one path and one path only, there are more than 1 way to fix the team and some options are more realistic to what actually might happen.

I agree that he is worth that to the Flames (and Flames fans) for about another 6 months. They key is his current contract. As we get closer to next year's deadline that incentive wears off and he becomes just a rental as he'll feel it is better to test the FA market, and most teams will wait for FA. IMO.
Also, highly likely a top 5 pick cracks the roster right away.
So if you can get a cost controlled impact player in the draft, why trade that guy for Lindy? What has he done to elevate himself from a young star. Nothing really. No deep playoff runs or other intangibles unfortunately.
