After the Edmonton series, you give Markstrom half a season, then you start making phone calls. I wasn't coming down on Markstrom at all the first half of the season, but when it became clear the Flames had a problem, that's when a move should have been made. GMs with more than half a brain make proactive moves, not reactive ones. And the proactive ones tend to eat the reactive ones' lunch.

Nobody is going to call up a 21 year old goalie with less than 100 pro games under his belt to replace a guy who finished top 3 in Vezina voting last year and say "go ahead kid, save our season". Not unless there is an injury.
