Do you honestly believe this team is bad enough to finish in the bottom 7/8 of the league? They are getting loser points despite this terrible goaltending, not because they are truly that bad, and will be in the middle of the draft pack regardless of how this plays out (if no changes are made).
Wolf might do nothing, but he also might continue to excel as he's done at every level and propel this team on a run. I don't see how it isn't at least worth a shot, even for a couple of games given this team needs to win now.
What is the impetus to get Wolf on the team next year if they wait? They have 2 goalies under NHL contract. At least seeing what you have in Wolf now, if even for a handful of games, gives you a leg up in terms of constructing your tandem for next season.
