The only issue for me trading Lindholm away is that he has been the Flames best centre since the late 90's. You are unlikely to fill the void organizationally with even multiple late 1st round picks. #1 centres and #1 defencemen are almost always gone by pick #10 - that's especially true with centres as defencemen can take a while longer.

When it comes to Backlund, I hope the organization does right by him somehow. One of the longest serving Flames, and he has never once complained about his deployment, which has been tough. Given his deployment, I argue that he probably should have won a Selke already.

Everyone else? Doesn't matter. I am not advocating for keeping the two above, just stating what I think. I don't think Huberdeau, Kadri and Weegar are going to be moving any time soon. Out of the three, I would most like to move Kadri, however.

Interesting times ahead. I can't even guess who is going to end up being moved, or how many players end up moving. I do think that changes need to be made as this is simply not really working. Great try by Treliving after losing Johnny for nothing, and Tkachuk making his demand, but it just didn't work out. Team plays a very good structure, so I am not going to blame Sutter. Huberdeau just hasn't worked out, Kadri just hasn't been good - definitely not consistently enough. I love Backlund, but his line shouldn't be the most dominant line most nights. Going to be an exciting few days here.
