We do not need to retain on those great deals. The Flames might be smart and sell this deadline but the tankbuild is not happening anytime soon. They should sell to get assets and open up flexibility but this team is likely still committed to win around a core of Kadri, Huberdeau, Weegar, Anderson etc.
Creating cap flexibility and adding a bunch of picks is exactly how you make a deal like the Hamilton trade 8 years ago. Go get that RFA the other team can’t afford to sign
