Take aim at thier top prospects who have shown a consistent development curve and will be ready to contribute now or soon. Players like Pelletier or Zary. Picking an identity of players that you want to have in the organization is also a must. No more mix and matching players. Look at all the top teams, they have an identity and a lot of thier players play well in the same system.

If we traded Lindholm I would expect at the least a player like Newhook and a 1st.

For Toffoli I would expect a player similar to Zary.

I would then trade Tanev for a solid defense prospect who is in the 19-21 year old range.

Draft picks are cool and all but you can still find great players in the 2nd round. Stop chasing the 1st round picks and go after more established players and then add the kickers. Build around the prospect and not the pick.

And no more crazy deals in free agency to 30+ players please.
Nothing wrong with flipping picks in the offseason for young, established players. Washington flips 30+ year old Orlov and is interested in turning around and getting Chychryn is a pretty nice play if they pull it off.
