That seems to be the angle they are going for. Some articles are saying they've stopped paying player and caddie expenses this year, and expect the teams to handle them.
It seems very delusional that they could sell these teams for the 50-100 million dollars. I could tee people having a routing interest for team Taylormad vs team Calloway or Titleist, but the obvious problem is that those brands are not really wanting to be associated with liv, and it would be tough to have 12 equipment manufacturer based teams.
As a funny aside, I noticed that Chris Kirk hit his second shot in the water with a Stealth fairway wood on 18 on Sunday. The funny part is that he is Calloway sponsored, and actually had a Paradigm head cover on his Stealth wood!
