Basically it was the between the 1998-2000 seasons, where the Flames went with a youth movement for players. All the forwards were quite young. There was the likes of Valeri Bure, Savard, Reggie, Iginla, Morris, Wilm, Weimer and Todd Simpson (captain) to name a few. They were horribly bad teams and the youth movement did not work.
Heck, the starting tendy on most nights was Freddy Braithwaite and in one year, backed up by Grant Fuhr.
The young guns slogan was also cumulated with the introduction of the new flames blasty jersey as well.
